Popularity

I didn’t know that popularity carried such responsibility with it. In the end, I think that’s where I uncover a deep truth: I don’t really want so much responsibility, because it means that the capacity for fucking it up is that much greater. It’s why I sometimes chafe against being an adult. I have noticed that there are many other mothers who don’t seem to mind being needed on such a grand, 24-h0ur-a-day, seven-day-a-week, forever-till-you-die scale.

On Reluctance and Motherhood

I decided to homeschool my three school aged children this year. My youngest is four and, since I’m homeschooling, she goes to pbskids.org school. I opted to homeschool because there weren’t any other viable options available for my seven-year-old, and since I wasn’t about to try to keep one home while running the chaos-that-was-school, they were all chosen for homeschooling.
